Gouache/Digital | How the Wolf Got Its Howl. Series of three images: 8.6×7″, 8.6×7″, 8.6×7″. From Massachusetts Corporation for Educational Telecommunications.
The wolf figures in numerous foundation myths. While the older belief that wolves howl at the moon has been debunked, it is now thought the howl is a social rallying cry, or in this case, an attempt to notify a young lost cub that the pack is near. Commissioned by Massachusetts Corporation for Educational Telecommunications distance learning series, Zoo Sleuth. Nominated for Boston/New England Emmy for Outstanding Children and Youth Series.
